House Shopping

Well Hello yet again.  So life has gotten crazy over here at the Ripplinger household.  I have so much to catch up on, I think I will tell you one story at a time.  Three months ago Kara Baby and I decided to start house shopping.  My plan was to find a dump of a place for our first year of marriage, that way we would... appreciate being in a house.  After 6 months we were ready to get out (for Kara Baby it only took one look to know she wanted out).  We contacted my Awesome Cousin Derek Whetten, and he helped us to find our dream house.
This picture was the very first house experience that we had.  The walls were covered with this velvet material.  Kara fell in LOVE!!  i said no.   When we were downstairs we were admiring that the home had a downstairs kitchen.  I was reconsidering, thinking that I could live with the velvet walls, then all the sudden a fat mouse ran across the kitchen floor.  No way Josie.
After about 2 months we were tired of not finding anything, or worse was finding something then being beat out by someone else.  We decided to take a look in our ward boundaries.  Kara Baby went to the Temple and thought it would be best if we stayed in ward boundaries.  I agree because I love love love our ward.  And conveniently there was a town home complex that is building new houses!!!  Alas our search was over!!

Valentines

So I was told by my viewers that I was a Debbie Downer according to my last post.  After reviewing said post I have determined that nobody envied my life, which I cannot have.  The point of this blog is to make people wish they were me, cause quite frankly I have the best life anyone can ask for.  From here on out I will only speak of positives.  Which leads me to Valentines!!

With this being the first Valentines with my wife I knew this one had to be exceptionally great.  My wife already informed me that I was the one who was going to be making the plans, so I made them how every man wishes they could have.  First we went to Home Depot, secondly we ate Pizza, Thirdly we snuggled to a romantic movie.  Awesome.

Now the trip to Home Depot was the most romantic visit to Home Depot ever.  We held hands, kissed, and even picked out a love plant (our first one died(but our love didn't))!!!  Love plants are much better then roses that die in a week, and the plant just radiates love.  Then we went to Big Daddy's Pizza.  Big Daddy's is good, but I feel like Little Cesar's is superior.  After the pizza we came home and watched PS I Love You.  Awesome.

But I had a little surprise for Kara Baby.  For the past couple weeks I have been making up a song for her on the guitar.  This worked perfectly because the guy in PS I Love You plays the guitar for his gal.  So after Kara Baby was already crying from the movie, I smoothly pulled out the guitar and said I wanted to play a song for her.  She cried.  Whether from the movie or the song I know not, neither do I care because She Loved It.  And I love her.  Hope everyone had an equally happy Valentines!!

Starting off on a Bad Foot...

WHAT HO! A string. But it's not any ordinary string.  Its a string of bad luck.  That is exactly what we have had since we started our blog, and we are not lovin it!!! Our string of bad luck starts with a accident on the freeway...

Here is where it started... Kara was heading back to Salt Lake to come see her studly husband after teaching dance in Riverton all day. It had began to rain and get slick when she was rear ended by a truck! Good news: it wasn't her fault. Bad news: it was undriveable and was around Thanksgiving weekend and therefore would take a while to fix. So rental it was! The rental wasn't that bad but to make matters worse two days before she was supposed to return it she lost the keys! Typical of my dear wife. Luckily after praying and many days of tearing the house apart we found them and only returned the rental car one day late!

This here is the pot hole that Kara hit while she was on her way to work (with her newly fixed car). It immediately blew out the tire, and because there was no shoulder she drove a half a mile to work on a flat.  Clearly this is in the middle of the road, so I notified the city that their roads are a hazard and that they should pay for my new tires...  I have yet to hear from them, and doubt I will. So I helped her change her flat tire (at 7am ON A SATURDAY) in 30 mins! Boom Baby!

Lovely Utah weather also put her brother in a predicament  Jarin (brother in law) was driving home for school and was involved in a very serious car accident. You will have to ask him for the full story but it ended with him being clipped from the side causing him to flip across all lanes of traffic hitting the barrier and ended with a head on collision. Luckily no scratch was left on him (just a little shock). But it was not the same fate for his car. He was left to search for a new one with my Father-in-law and lots of tickets and court details to work out.

Next my bruder (Clark) broke his PELVIS!!  Let me tell you what happened.  I just got finished helping someone in my ward move, and I was getting ready for my church ball game.  I was particularly excited for this game because we were playing against the spanish ward, and we all know their forte lies in soccer...not basketball, so I was going to put up some serious points in this game.  Then I get a text from my father saying that Clark broke his pelvis and was going to the hospital.  So naturally I went to the hospital instead of the game, but I find Clark crackin jokes about his pelvis that nerd.  Then I was the only one that needed medical attention when I nearly passed out, but what can you do.  So Clark has to stay off his pelvis for Three weeks and it will be healed.  He is taking it quite well.  Good man.  Oh and we ended up losing to the spanish ward.  Who does that!?

Now as a cherry on top Kara had lost her wedding ring.  Sad day I know.  Dont worry I double checked, and we are still married (whew!).  So we have been praying and searching for that ring of hers.  Its a good thing she is far more beautiful than any ring.  Life goes on with me and my lovely wife.

To wrap up the car stories, Kara of course had to end it with getting a speeding ticket in a SCHOOL ZONE on her way home from work to see me before I left for work... Good news...at least she was coming to see me! Bad news.. I just added her to my insurance and my clean record is not so clean anymore... Pray for traffic school.

Now it is time to burn the String of Bad Luck.
Wish us luck!

And so it begins...

There comes a time after you are married when you need to start a blog with your spouse. For me, that day is today. My main purpose in this blog is to help create memories, entertain audiences, and to work on my story telling skills.  Enjoy your stay, and thank you for joining us for J&K Memories!
